In religion we continue to learn about the Word of God at Mass. We are also preparing for the May Crowning Prayer Service which will be on Wed. May 13th at 9:30 AM after which we’ll be preparing for our First Communion Celebration Mass which will be on June 2, at 9:30.
We are now learning about geometric shapes in math. Then we’ll be going on to fractions. Students should keep working with math facts at home in order to keep them fresh in their mind because we’ll be doing three digit addition and subtraction after the fractions.
In science we are finishing the sun, moon and earth and a brief look at the planets in our solar system. We will then go on to the human body.
Our 2R reading group has our last book report this month. The students can pick any one of the projects we have done this year for their final book report project. Some will require a written summary and others won’t. Check the rubric for details. The book report is due on May 28th.
We have finished our vocabulary book but the students will continue to have a spelling and dictation test every Thursday and Friday.
Our cursive writing is really coming along. We will be finishing the capital letters this month. Encourage your child to write cursive as often as possible so that they don’t forget their letters.
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend.
