Safe Environment - Protecting God's Children
The Diocese of
Manchester requires all employees and volunteers of Infant Jesus School
to complete a safe environment program. This program was
established to ensure the safety of our students. The program
consists of 4 steps. All volunteers (this includes: drivers for
all field trips, classroom, library, computer, art, lunchroom, Drama,
DI, Running, Math Club, Lego League, Gift Room, Spaghetti Social,
Olympic Day, etc.) must complete the program before you can
volunteer at Infant Jesus School.
Please be advised.
If you do not complete the steps listed below, you will not be able to
volunteer for
Infant
Jesus School.
-
Sign up for a "Protecting God’s
Children" Workshop. Look for an updated list of class and date
times on the
Catholic Charities website or on the
Diocese of
Manchester's Child Safety website.
-
Complete the
Diocese of Manchester Volunteer Application and the state criminal
record release authorization form and return both to the school.
(These are available on our
Forms page.) The state form must be done for NH and every
state in which you have worked for the past five years. A J1
Work VISA must be completed if you are not a resident of the US.
This must be notarized. In order to process a criminal
authorization, there is a $7.50 fee for volunteers. Your check
should be made out to Infant Jesus School.
-
Read the
Promise to Protect, Pledge to Heal
Policy, sign the acknowledgement at the back of the booklet, and
return it to school.
-
At least once
every three years, you must participate in refresher training on
sexual abuse awareness and reporting.
The above requirements must be completed at least two weeks before the
school event that you’ll be volunteering for. We truly appreciate
all of our volunteers and their hard work. The time that you give
to our school is important to our students and staff.
Thank you in advance for donating more of your valuable time to complete
the above steps so that you can volunteer at IJS! You help make
IJS the wonderful school that it is!
For more questions, please contact Mrs. Mary
Dalton, our Safe Environment Coordinator, by calling the school office.
